There can be very few days that pass without a firearms
or related incident taking place. Increasingly
Barristers and Solicitors are finding themselves dealing
with such cases either as prosecution or defence
advocates.
Lawyers
will appreciate that the current Firearms Legislation is perhaps
somewhat of a minefield, a combination of technical mechanical
detail and difficult legislation to apply and interpret.
Peter Franks is a
qualified Solicitor and Expert Witness who has over 30
years expertise in this field. Peter has a police
background and has provided firearms courses for the
military, police and customs personnel from around the
world. He has been involved in writing books on the
subject as well as appearing in television programmes in
the UK and USA.
Last year some considerable time was spent by
Peter becoming accredited with the Bar Vocational Council to
allow Accuratus Ballistics International Limited to conduct
accredited Firearms – Ballistics – Legislation courses for
members of the Bar.
